WER

The World Educational Robot (WER) contest was founded in 2013 and continues to attract more than 500,000 students from 30+ countries to participate in fun, educational STEM events.

The World Educational Robot Contest (WER), is a robotics competition commissioned by the Federation of World Educational Robots (FWER). The aim of the contest is to foster dialogue between robotics educational organizations, enhancing technical communication, improving the visibility and knowledge of robotics education throughout Canada, and promoting international cooperation in the field of robotics.

Founded in 2013, the contests regularly attract more than 500,000 students from 30+ countries to participate and learn in fun and educational STEM events. The winning teams of 2017 will be invited to the World Finals in Shanghai, China. Over 100 participants attended the competition in this year alone.

The robots that were created by the participants became miners to harvest minerals, architects to construct railways, and industrial workers to transport cargo. These tasks help illustrate the outstanding imagination and creativity of participants.

CYRC is a federal registered not-for-profit organization that focuses on robotics education. With experienced instructors and students serving as its core members, CYRC is committed to improving the visibility and knowledge of robotics education in Canada. After going through many years of development, CYRC launched a series of robotics-related education activities to various communities, public schools, private schools and non-profit charitable organizations.

Each year, thousands of participants join CYRC robotics competitions held in Canada.
